Statement of Bishop Michael W. Fisher on the Observance of Veterans Day
“We rightly remember and honor all who, as President Lincoln described, have given ‘the last full measure of devotion’ in service to their country and for the cause of liberty. We also honor the men and women who serve in our own time and have pledged to protect and defend our nation and the inherent rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We ask the Lord‘s constant blessing on them and their families, and pray that they serve only in times of peace. May they reap lasting reward in this life and in the Kingdom yet to come for demonstrating the greatest love—to lay down one’s life for the sake of others.”
—Bishop Michael W. Fisher
