Topic - The Eucharist
Doors open at 7:30 am. At 8:30 am Mass will be celebrated with the Most Reverend Bishop Salvatore Matano. Morning snack and lunch are included. The cost is $55, $60 at the door $15 Students. This event runs from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm and will be held at St. Jude the Apostle Parish on 4100 Lyell Road in Rochester. Any first time, never before attended men, may purchase a ticket for $45. The Knights of Columbus, Edward Powers Council #2936 will meet Thursday, September 20 at 7:30pm at the K of C hall. All members are asked to attend our regular council meeting. This is a one-time change of our normal meeting on the third Tuesday of the month. Anyone who wishes to know more about the Knights of Columbus may call Grand Knight, Gary at 768-7535
ADULT CLASSES: Fr. Michael’s scripture class meets every Tuesday at 9:00am and 7:00pm. Fr. Justin’s class on the Church History is every Wednesday at 10:00am. These classes are held at Our Lady of Mercy Parish Center. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend.
ROSARY FOR THE END OF ABORTION: Every Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. the Mercedarian Third Order prays the Rosary for the end to abortion, world peace and for the sick or distressed of our parish. Everyone is invited to participate.
THE HOLY ROSARY is prayed Monday through Friday at 6:30 a.m. and on Sundays at 10:00 a.m. Please consider coming to Mass early to pray the Rosary with your fellow parishioners.
COFFEE HOUR is next Sunday, September 23rd following the 4:00pm Mass. Stop by to catch up with friends and have coffee and refreshments!
GriefShare at St. Brigid's Parish Center continues this week with Session 2, "Challenges of Grief” on Wednesdays at noon ( free to bring your own brown bag lunch) and again at 6:30pm. Both sessions offer the same content. You do not have to be pre-registered to attend nor do you need to have attended the first session in order to come to this one. There is a brochure in the back of St. Brigid's and Our Lady of Mercy Churches which offers more information. Encourage those you know who are grieving to join us. Grief has no time limit.
THE LADIES OF CHARITY: The Ladies of Charity of Buffalo will hold their Annual Fall Fashion Show on Saturday, September 29th. Along with this fundraiser is a basket raffle. Since our family movie night basket was a success this Spring we would like to repeat this contribution, possibly filling two baskets. Donations can be left at the back of church through September 16th. Proceeds go to support the Ladies of Charity thrift store on Broadway in Buffalo where needy families can purchase clothing and small household items. RECYCLED TEENS will gather for 9:00 am Mass on Thursday, September 20. A short meeting will follow with guest speaker, Gerry Diskin.
HOLY NAME SOCIETY ANNUAL GOLF OUTING is Sunday, September 30th at 11:00am at the Churchville Golf Course. Please join members of the Holy Name for 9 holes of relaxing golf. There is a good mix of fathers and sons and we encourage all men of the parish to join us. The format is a four man scramble that has an adjusted score by using a Calloway scoring method. This encourages all golfers at ALL skill levels. Door prizes for all and cold drinks. THE HOLY ROSARY is recited a half hour before each weekend Mass. Saturday Rosary begins at 3:30pm. Sunday Rosary is recited at 8:30am. Please join your fellow parishioners in praying the Rosary.
